With its high flower-to-leaf ratio, compact buds, good yields and exceptional resin production, these wonderful marijuana seeds are a most lucrative choice for the indoor cannabis grower. Patience Pays Off Posted by Indoor Cabinet Grower on 2011-12-11 21:19:02
Yield
47 grams per plant average. Total yield 190 grams from four plants. Trimmed buds weighed after drying for one week.
Flavour
The smoke is mild tasting with little flavor. It smells like a Christmas tree with a hint of mint.

The seeds arrived in the U.S. in about a week. Five out of five of the Northern Light feminized seeds sprouted and survived to adulthood. All appeared as pure females with no signs of hermaphrodites. I used peat pellets with a thin layer of soil over the top to germinate. The sprouts took about three days to pop up. I decided to flower four and keep one as a mother. They were topped at about the fifth node and produced four to five main branches. The tops were tied down with wire. At first I used two gallon pots to flower in, but I transplanted to three gallon pots two weeks into flowering without any sign of stress. The root growth was incredibly dense. They were flowered under a 400 watt HPS and two 90 watt LEDs for 52 days. There were three main phenotypes. Two had thinner leaves. Two had broader leaves. And one had short broad leaves. The one with short leaves was very small, but it caught up and was a great producer. Some plants that looked better while vegetating weren't the best during flowering. The topped plants with multiple arms were around 7 inches (18 cm)when flowering started and grew to about 16 inches (40 cm). They developed multiple long banana shaped colas. Of the four plants, the highest yield was 57 grams. The total yield for four plants was 190 grams. I also have about 200 grams of nice trim. The high is potent and feels more like a head high than couch lock. It doesn't have a particularly psychedelic or trippy feeling to it. I harvested when the trichomes were still mostly clear. Next time, I want to wait until I see more amber. The plants started to give off odor during the fifth week of flowering. I have a carbon filter, but a mild smell existed. The plants did not smell like marijuana. It smelled like green grass and mint. I could smell a hint of skunk toward the very end. I have successfully cloned the plants using cuttings with gel stuck in a peat pellet. So far I have 100% survival rate with cloning. Northern Light was a good choice for me as a first time grower. The plants are hardy and can survive high temperatures. Learning to grow for the first time wasn't easy, but it was worth it. Now its time to try some of Nirvana's other strains. I am sticking with Nirvana.

Better Second Grow Posted by Indoor Cabinet Grower on 2012-11-16 19:46:18
Yield
298 grams from three (3) plants weighed after drying for one week and trimming.
Flavour
The smoke is very smooth and soft with a light green flavor. The smell and flavor depend on the number of days of flowering, the phenotype, and how long it has cured. One plant was a little spicy. I noticed watermelon, citrus, raspberry, strawberry, and mild skunk scents from the processed buds.

My grow environment is a cabinet with a 400 watt HPS and two 90 watt LED UFOs on both sides. I used three Northern Light plants cloned from my first grow each in five gallon pots. I topped the plants and trained them to be very low, starting at about 20 cm when flowing began and ending up around 30 cm tall at harvest. By training the plants, I created a sea of green and so many fat colas. I harvested the plants at 68 days, 80 days, and 82 days. The longer they flowered, the bigger the buds were, the better they smelled, and the more potent they were. The harvest was huge at almost 300 grams. The buds were beautiful, covered in crystals and red hair and smelled so fruity. The high is mostly indica, relaxing, body stoned feeling. There is an up sativa element to the high that is uplifting, but this is mild. I had no paranoia and could interact and do normal things without problems. The feeling is very nice, but I prefer hybrids with more sativa in them after trying some of Nirvana's other strains. Although this plant smells less than most during flowering, after the sixth week, the smell gets much stronger. Odor control measures are necessary for stealth grows. These plants are hardy and produce a large yield. They can be kept in a small indoor space if topped and trained. Friends who smoked some of this with me thought it was excellent and wanted more.

First off, let me say as a first time grower. I was extremely impressed with Nirvana! I was ripped off on my first try ordering seeds from another company. After I did more research, I decided to risk an order from Nirvana. The stealth shipping was awesome, and I received my seeds on the East Coast of the US in less than 10 days. I ordered 5 fem, and they all germinated in less than 48 hours. One of the 5 didn't root though, but I only had room in my tent for 4 plants and was planning on culling one of the 5 anyway. I am Day 60/Day 19 Flower, and these babies look great! They look like huge, thick bushes and the flowers are beginning to grow the beginnings of nice white hairs. I am finding they are very easy to grow in a small 36X36X72 tent under 400 Watt HPS. I am using a DWC Hydro set up. BTW, all are females - thanks Nirvana. Not sure about yield or stone yet. I will have to weigh in on that when the time comes. I will end by saying, I am very impressed with Nirvana both in prices and customer service, and I am scowering the seed finder to find my next grow. I don't plan on risking using a different seed company at the moment - Nirvana's found a loyal grower.

Very resilient strain, decent yield despite many mistakes and some periods of neglect... Good delivery and customer service. Awesome quality for a fair price; 5 out of 5 sprouted within 72 hours. Vigorous growth during the first few hours... And then the first few days, I had a problem with root rot due to high reservoir temps/light getting into the reservoir and nearly 80% of root mass was lost to disease. Did a hydrogen peroxide treatment and the plants recovered surprisingly well... Resumed vigorous growth and flowered with dense, frost covered buds. One interesting fact I want to share about this strain; unless disturbed by rough handling or being moved around a lot, Nirvana's Northern lights aroma is almost scentless (not to say the plant itself has no aroma, touch a bud and your hands will smell of it a lot) this is a welcomed trait for indoor growing. 100% satisfied with cost, delivery, quality and customer service. Will be ordering again soon after a long vacation from growing, will try Nirvana's Blue Mystic, PPP, and Aurora Indica in an organic SOG grow. I recommend Nirvana Shop to any new grower or any person in doubt of the quality of their seeds... I honestly was skeptical at first, specially because of posts in the internet with negative comments about Nirvana Shop... I found soon that every company that sells seeds get this kind of feedback, mostly from people that gets frustrated after not being able to grow plants well. I have learned from experience that 80% of sprouting/seedling survival problems are product of poor cultural practices rather than seed stock. Kudos to Nirvana for their great service, you have a loyal customer now.

Just wanted to note that in my case, a t5 was insufficient at any point during veg. the stems got extremely weak and were breaking on their own. Once we noticed and moved them under the 600w, and supercropped they all got stronger. Now we are 4 weeks into flower and they are looking fabulous. These ladies like good lighting.

Received seeds 11 days after order (Northeast US). Excellent stealth pkg. 9/9 germinated, but lost all but 2 plants to various errors and mishandling. Vigorous and easy to grow. One planted outdoor in guerrilla grow 1st week of June 2013, grew to 5' bush by last week of Sept., then someone (hunter or LEO?) stole the whole thing. :>( ... Grew second plant indoor under CFLs (started at (1) 23W 5000K, increased to (11) 23W 2100K by harvest ) in 5 gal. soil: this one grew and manicured to 2+' dia. x 2+' tall bush with 12+ small - med. colas (6 wks. veg & 8 wks fl). Significant skunky odor as plant matured, esp. during 2nd half of flowering. Had to harvest (est.) 2 weeks early due to paranoia over unexpected visit from nosy neighbor. Potency very decent. Despite the mishaps, very pleased with Nirvana, and NL is a solid strain.

This was the most fun of any indoor strain that I have done to date. The plant did everything you would want, and it did it fast. I finished in 50 days under a 600 watt hps. Very resinous and sticks to the glass. I will keep this in my seed bank for sure, without question.

Northern Lights, what a beautiful strain.. I germinated the 10 fem. seeds and got about 7 female plants.. not bad.. i had them under 24 hour light and grew them for about 2 weeks after they sprouted then put them outside.. i rushed them which i shouldnt have done.. never rush the MJ!!!... but it seemed to have worked out fine... Northern Light is a hardy plant for the Nova scotian weather it seems to love it.. pest resistant, heat resistant.. a few bugs bites nothin major... The sad part is only one plant survived hurricane Arthur which was pretty brutal.. the storm ripped out big trees out of the ground.. the day after the storm i went to see if my Last northern Lights plant survived the storm and it did!!!!!! yipee... LOL.. Looks even better now.. I topped the plant a week before the storm and it had 4 shoots popping out of the main branch when the storm hit.. What im trying to say is people should buy more northern Lights.. Looks to be a heavy yielder even tho it only had 2 weeks worth of veg ... its the size of a small shrub now.. i feed it 20-20-20 fertilizer up until august then ill be feeding it some coconut water and Molasses for added nutrients without the chemical's ( a complete Flush). Some strains dont need molasses or coconut water... but i think Northern Lights would benefit from it. Just to add a little sweetness to the North. Oh yea Im also A medical user .. I use Marijuana to treat my psychosis.. it helps me from going Stir crazy .. Thanks Nirvana for giving me relief in times of trouble.. sorry for the long review.. but i had to describe how happy i am with you guys.. keep it up.... People Buy more northern Lights.. DO IT !!!!!! oh yea i also notice while growing it.. that it smells skunky and fruity when you brush up against it.. dont know if its a certain pheno i got but im happy wit it... when you rub a stem it smells like fruits and spices... definitely something worth investigating for future grows... next years outdoor list for me is.... Swiss Cheese... Northern Lights and maybe Papaya.. thanks Nirvana Peace/..

As an anxious 1st timer, the folks a Nirvana were very helpful. When my cash payment seemed slow to arrive they talked me down and after 3 weeks it did arrive. The seeds came to me about 1 week later. Very clever packaging. As for the seeds, I started with 4- 2 white widow and 2 northern lights. All geminated within 4 days in a moist napkin I then put the in rock wool. Being a novice I made my mistakes. I had to move my seedlings from 1 location to another and during transport my container fell over - injuring 2 of the 4. One of the seedlings snapped completely off below the leaves. Worse, they lost their name tags I don't know who is who. Well, I stood them all up, place the broken stem into the rock wool and made the best of it. 6 weeks later 3 are 18" and 7 days into flower and the broken seedling survived and is about 12". All are female. Tough buggers! They couldn't look any healthier. These are the right choice for the inexperienced as they are very forgiving. Can't wait to harvest- will update when I get my final yield. Thanks so much.

very hardy plant...recovered nicely from small nutrient burn and from "controversial" leaf trimming/pruning (1st grow still learning). Nirvanashop.com is professional and discreet. Sent $$ in mail received seeds in nice package. ;-) Quick response to questions/concerns (only 1 question) Will definitely order again from Nirvana. Very Happy and Thanks for the sticky!!!!
