Blackberry’s mother, Black Domino, was a marijuana clone sent to the Netherlands from the area around Seattle. Its father is Nirvana’s very own Raspberry Cough. Domino's tight leaf structure has been preserved well in this marijuana hybrid. Nirvana Blackberry smoke is thick and heavy with subtle hints of Asian Sativa flavours. Yields are very good for a strain that already displays so many desirable traits.

Blackberry - Premium Bud Posted by P. H on 2011-05-20 07:25:07

I've been growing for 30 years, know what I'm doing and LOVE this BlackBerry. I start all my seeds under a cabinet mounted 400w HPS in large jiffies. When the roots start popping out BIG, they get transplanted up or directly into a 48"x96" booth with a 66" ceiling height. The soil base is a full 48"x96"x8" (no pots - 158 gallons of peat/soil mix) all set under a 1000 watt convertible light. I grow this just like an outdoor garden by amending the soil, etc... Each BB needs about one square foot of soil (8" deep) for its root system but the plant itself needs a good 24x24 area to grow properly. Their height was perfect for my setup and I had very little bending tying off, etc... for these plants to reach maturity. Although, I do prune a lot and keep the garden very clean, open and airy. BB's are an excellent plant with stout branches and HEAVY bud weight. They were germinated and grew under the 400w for four weeks with an 18/6 light schedule. Then transplanted into the 12/12 1000w booth that ran 2 weeks with a Metal Halide until converted to HPS for the remainder. Grew to harvest under 12/12 for 12 weeks and began periodic harvests that continued for 4 weeks. Of the 5 plants, along with two Chronics, each showed a slightly varied phenotype. One being super fast, kind of small and purpleish was harvested in 12 weeks. 2 were green and medium, the forth green and LARGE and the last was Large, LATE, PURPLE and one of hashyist pots I ever grew! Well worth the wait. Overall, the dried, manicured buds of each ranged from 60g's for the smallest to 252g's for the largest. The ultra late, purple plant was the best smoker of all and grew under 12/12 for 16 weeks and produced 105 g's. Total weight for the 5 plants was 563.45 g's or 20.12 ounces. The two Chronics added another 150+g's and didn't like being treated like BlackBerrys. Blackberry's smell is pure joy but not overpowering. I own my home in the country and could smell them in the house at times. A little ventilation would be a good thing but this was a winter grow. The woodstove, when running, covered them up easily. Otherwise a candle or two was enough to mix it up and nobody knew the difference. BB's are very easy to grow, harvest, trim and cure. They form beautiful buds throughout the branches with little to no waste as I trim/prune my plants continuously for high quality bud. They cure to a stinky, awesome rich smoking pot that anyone would die for. The bag appeal is superb, especially the 16 week purps. All covered with trics, sticky and people would just hold it and look at the buds for the longest time. Once smoked, sit back, chill and forget the world......matter of fact, forget about working, forget about sex, forget about everything. This would also be great pain meds. Blackberry is premium pot all the way!!!!! Now that I've grown them once, I'll grow this again, matter of fact I have 4 in germ right now. Of the 10 feminised seeds, only one didn't germ. Of the current four, I think I can easily get the four to go over 600 g's, if not reach a kilo. One of the first five made 252 g's, no reason four cannot break a kilo. Veg these for 8 to 10 weeks and I feel 4 plants will produce 1200 to 1500 g's with a 13 week flower. In my opinion, if you can pull 3 to 4 POUNDS of premium bud from 4 plants in 1/2 year, it's a good grow. In summary, buy, grow and love the Blackberry. I will positively grow them again and again and again and with a little better understanding, I expect the results will be even better quantities. The quality is fantastic, especially if you are patient and let them go to 12 to 16 weeks. I use various Miracle Grow ferts, hand water with a garden hose and flush three to four weeks prior to harvest. I'm fortunate to have the soil base I have and because of it, it's very forgiving and easy to manage, hence the reason I use it. Makes life much simpler. ENJOY! PS: Please stop writing reviews about germinating your seeds in two days. Nobody reads them or cares. Since 95% of pro seeds ALWAYS germinate, if you know what you're doing, a review stating such means nothing to nobody. So, please grow your plants, cure your bud and smoke it before writing a review.

Berrylike, with a heavy berry aftertaste that refreshes the palette encouraging another puff.

I grew this strain a while back out of the same batch of seed and did not achieve these results. The plants grew, smelled and tasted very different. The buzz was different also. I am presently re-generating this phenotype for future clones.

Got these babies over the pagan feast days. By using Root Riot cubes on the last few grows including this one Ive been getting 100% germ rates also good on my clones. They all popped up fast under t5's. Gonna put these in my 1400 watt room. Looking for a big yielding Nirvana strand what's the best one?

To sum this up short term...aftr germing these beans I placed them in 3gal. pots to eliminate transplanting later. 4 out of 5 beans germed btwn 14-18 hrs. 1 remaining bean took 48+ hrs. but finally cracked. Each 3gal. pot was filled wth Happy Frog potting soil wth 2cups of perlite mixed in ech pot to assure maximum oxygen and air flow to the roots. Very vigorous veg. grow. All 5 beans were up and out of the soil in 24hrs. Evn the last bean that germed, sprouted and quickly caught up wth the othr 4, But all started thin and very spinely. Very tall in the 1st 8days or so, perhaps too tall at that point. Dont thnk that I gav thm enuff depth upon planting. Usually I plant 1/4" deep, but these babies should hav been 1/2". Each plant was topped @3wks veg. then allowed 2mor wks veg. for healing and replenishing. Aftr 5wks veg. undr a 1000wt MH switched bulb to a 1000wt HPS. A small stretch of only 4" in height, but the spread in wdth was unreal. Ddnt really mean to provoke so mch wdth as all 5 ladies began to crowd the room by 32days of flwrng! So in an attempt to create more space I eliminated a few lower branches on ech plant and used dental floss in a grid formation to support branches in a semi-scrog looking way (ths method was unintentional goin scrog in the middle of flwrng but I was in a "had to" situation). All branches reacted very well and I was pleased to see this as I was un sure how this strain would do in a sog or scrog method. By 45 1/2 days into flwr I created multiple colas that surprising grew into a uniform canopy of 8,10,and 12" tops that were quickly filling in so mch that you could not see the branches any more! Absolutely beautiful! All 5 girls seemed to hav similar phenos in aroma, color and growth patterns. Ddnt get a very dark purple, but a lite violet/plumb wth a lot of lite green breaking thru the colas. Harvested in 80days longest harvest I've evr grwn as I'm used to dominately indica strains for power and quick yeilds. Smoke, flavr, and stone is absolutely "to die for!" well worth the wait for the quality and yeild of this strain. 3.5 zips frm 2 plants the othr 3 plants yeilded 2.8 to barely 3zips very good in my opinion. The quality and freshness of Nirvana's seed selection is superb! to say the least. the possibilities cud be the "sky is the limit" if grown in a perfect condition, whch I by no means did wth this particular grow. Co-workers were spreading a Grape Ape rumor around the plant, but little do they know! SHHHH! Quiet as kept! Huge props to Nirvana Seed Bank!
