AK 47- Vs. AK 48 Review by Johnny pot-seed

I grew 4 decent sized ak47 plants a few years ago, but I lost the clones due to bad air circulation and then mould build up. The seeds then dissapeared off the market and I've been growing various indicas such as the California Orange, and Mango Indica as well as a red haired skunk variety which I have kept going for years on end.

When I finally got the ak48 seeds I realized what had been missing from my garden!
A perfect blend of sativa high and indica stone the guys at Nirvana captured it's essence.
The genetics seemed identical, though a few taller planrs came through in the end, that was pretty normal for the ak47's too from time to time.

The stone is a real blast from the past, I remembered where I was back when I was growing my 47's. Smell and taste are almost identical, though I use less bio-dunger than I used to, choosing to use more synthetic fertilizers with my drip system.

48 hours germination-3 weeks grow-change to 12-12 (growth spurt) they shoot up! 2weeks
6 weeks more on the 12-12 with a 600watt hps lamp. Thickening up in the last 2 weeks till growing slows , then harvest at 8 weeks flower! 6 females, in clay, 360grms, solid buds. (Posted on 8/30/10)

Easy Grow...good yield...awesome flavor and buzz Review by tanlover442

Having grown my own for 15 years, I am very pleased with the consistency of yield, flavor and buzz of the AK-48. There is usually two phenotypes: the desirable medium height with thick solid buds, and the tall lanky scrawny type. The medium height one is fantastic in all ways.
Not too tall, lots of solid buds, and a good yield. Let it go a little longer and your buds will covered in a thick layer of almost orange colored hairs. The taller type is scrawny, tall, and skanky looking and a very thin small airy buds......UNLESS you let it go another 3 weeks and hit with a super bud bloom accelerator. Then the buds will fill out and you will have to support the branchs to keep them from bending over and breaking. A decent harvest, but only if it goes longer and gets hit with a super bud bloom accelerator.

I take the best of these gorgeous Ladies and keep them in veg so I can get lots of clones off of them. This way, I get short to medium height girls that grow quick and strong and flavorful.
Don't over dose them with stuff like Miracle Grow...it is just too strong. Use some of the nutes that have gentler doses and lots of micronutrients.

Received my AK beans 8 days from order to midwest U.S.A. . All beans were undamaged and had good color, most were on the small side, but from my experience small seeds can grow as well as bigger ones. As far as stealth goes, once I opened the the contents of the package the beans were easily located, but in my opinion the contents were packed well enough that even if costoms opened the envelope they would have no reason to search further.
