Short Rider feminized (5 seeds)

I got the seeds on monday and the true leafs were already blooming on saturday, gotta say that is amazing. all my seeds germinated and grew this strain is my fav of the autos. (Posted on 8/30/10)

Got my seeds in about a week.....germinated two and stashed the other three...the two germinated within 24 hours and two days later have already sprouted!!!! So far so good, first time grower so hopefully I can get some decent yields, thanks Nirvana!! (Posted on 8/28/10)

There isn't a lot to say about this strain. It isn't a high yielder; however, for only growing and flowering for about seven weeks, this is some kick ass green. Definitely a great smoke, very reminiscent of citrus or lemon. I have ordered this a couple times and have never been disappointed. Good option if you have some extra space in your room/tent. Grew mine under 18/6 for a few weeks then switched over to 12/12 and yielded enough to make me happy.

Seeds always arrive to me in about five or six days.

Germinated all 10 seeds, all sprouted and grew very healthy, growing under ideal conditions. I am now currently on week 6 and still no sign of flowering. All the plants are about a foot tall, I am very disappointed in this "auto-flowering" strain. On the bright side, really good genetics otherwise (healthy, bushy and grows very strong). Started with five seeds. Grew in four liter pots with fox farm ocean forest in a 2 by 4 ft closet in an apt under one ufo led and two cfl's. lined walls with mylar and had a fan for air flow. Gave them techna flora nutes they did really good ended up with four plants yielding about an ounce a plant. Nice Smoke!!! (Posted on 8/21/10)

This plant was put in 5 gallon pots with a promix medium after started inside. From seed to finish 60 days and done! believe it. I used foxfarm nutes and yielded an average of 3/4 of an ounce per plant. The downside is if you plant them in the spring they will be flowering during the humid days of summer in return equals BUDROT , at least thats what happend to me. i just started my short ryder auto flowering grow outdoors and out of five, three sprouted, they are a week old each and, i did kinda over watered one but stopped once i saw the yellowing, and one with nutrient defficientcy but i am fixing those problems now, other than that i think at least one will make it for sure. Ordered and received really fast.5 out of 5 sprouted. Not much yield though it was grown outdoors in poorsoil. Was a really nice buzz as it did help a neurological disorder I have. Might do better indoor under constant supervision. Nirvana is the only choice for me. Enjoy. (Posted on 8/8/10)

I purchased Short Rider seeds and for the one seed that germed, I had great results but I must say that I was very disappointed in the 4 dud seeds.
My one plant grew beautifully and developed faster than I expected. Very hairy towards maturity, very good levels of THC.
I don't grow for my own usage but those that sampled this grow said it was remarkable.
I'm cloning from the one plant but may buy again and hope for more than one germinating seed. (Posted on 8/8/10)

to be honest if you are in a place with spider mites, these are invaluable. Spider mites are photoperiod sensitive so if you never change photoperiods in theory you can better avoid spider mites when flowering. You can get the yields and sizes a little closer to other plants if you use aquaponic methods. (Posted on 8/5/10)

I'm a novice grower so I picked short rider because it was simple. The finished product was great tasing with good strength. The problem I found was the smell when it was budding, it was overpowering. Stronger than I have seen in any plants that I been around before. I thought it was my northern light plant which was so much larger at first but soon I determined it was this little plant putting out such a skunky smell. Next time I plant this it wiil be deep in the country not indoors. I would also like to thank you for the speed my order got to me in the states, around a week. I finished growing a Short Rider,2 weeks ago and i must say its a great strain!!Although i did some mistakes with the lighting,this seed grew fine and gave me a very nice smoke!Its really easy to grow and i would recommend it to all new growers!

I ordered these a while back and they got to me in about a week or so. 4/5 germd and the 4 ladies are still growing filled with flowers and it smells good and I'm only on day 31. I would recommend this strain because they started showing pistils at about 3 weeks. The only weird thing is I planted all 4 at the same time and my biggest one is about 2 feet tall and the smallest is a little under 1 foot. The other two (the ones that look the best) are both at about exactly 1 foot maybe 13-14 inches. Overall I'd say it is a good buy. (Posted on 7/7/10)

I purchased this strain due to my diagnosed chronic pain issues and short cycle. This baby flowered in 3 weeks and just kept on flowering very skunky smell and about 1 1/2 ft tall all bud. I tried some the other night and couldn;t think Thats how good this is. I started 3 more plus 2 bubblishious autos. They just germed and am counting the days now. Nirvana has the best Integrity as well as products. They are what they say they are. Dont buy anywhere else, ive done this sort of thing for 30 years plus and by far this is the best ever. Looking forward to being able to plant the Aurara and Papaya since I live in New york the seasons dont last long enough. starting an indoor garden area as my wife has agreed I can grow the tomatoes and peppers LOL. For my first grow I started 4 short ryders and 4 swiss cheeze. The 4 Short Ryders have already yielded 3.8 oz's of sticky, strong goodness. I think I would have had more but Swiss Cheeze was twice as tall and tended to take up all the light from the SR's. This is a nice uppy, happy high that puts a smile on your face. I have a few more weeks until the Swiss are ready to harvest but I can already tell that the Short Ryders will out perfrom the Swiss. I have Jock Horrors and Norther Lights AF started but I am sure I'll be sticking to Short Ryders from now on. You just cant go wrong with these girls. now that are 60 days old and they are amazing- full of flowers- this is a great strain to grow for quick bud. This is my first auto flower and it is an out standing plant. Nice hard buds and the most beautiful color of purple I have ever seen, which was a nice surprise.
the smoke is smooth and will have you ripped for most of the day. I had a small hit in the A.M. and out of it all day.
This is not a smoke for lite weights. And if you are a veteran of war then this is for you. No nightmares, just a long and rest full sleep.
I grew it in a 4"X4" tent and under a 1000w m/h lamp on a 18/6 schedule all the way though the grow.

First time grower here, went just as smooth as I had hoped it would. Took 8 weeks from seed, I harvested a little early, so it may take 9 or 10 weeks to the proper age. She autoflowered, kept the light 20/4 during the entire grow. Overall, great high, great plant, great service!

NIRVANA COMMENT: You'd be best off asking such questions on an online cannabis community, but we'll give it a shot.
Mostly it depends on how many plants you plan on growing at the same time and what your grow room looks like. It's quite a small set-up, yes? You really should be using at least one 42w lamp per plant for best results. If you're using the 2700K ones for flowering and 6500k for growing as you should be, then that's really quite meagre on the flowering lamps unless you're growing only 1-2 plants at a time.

So, it's OK for a first time grow, but would be better if you got a few more lumens on the plants while flowering. Also, make sure the lights are as close to the plants as they can be without burning (1-2 inches) to prevent stretching. (Posted on 5/30/10)

another thing. I highly recommend bending the shit outta these gals third or fourth week in if you are having problems with the lower branches not getting bushy or receiving enough light. I had a huge problem with the top half growing bushier than the bottom. bending will solve this problem A~OKAY. but again Im liking this strain alot so far and can't wait to smoke some!!

for those who have reviewed this strain as having "wispy buds" im sorry but the equipment you grew them with was highly insufficient or you have little experience with plants in general. I've been watching this plants top colas EXPLODE!! not only are they dense and compact the smell is intoxicating and has a fruity diesel odor! I will say that although the lower tops are popcorn worthy there are so many that it doesn't matter :D i easily have an ounce and then some with my baby gir. thank you sooo much Nirvana.

Your re-submittal of my 5 short rider seeds arrived 4 days after you said you would send them out and 3 days ago 3 sprouted. it took only 2 days to sprout . I had 5 of your germination kit tabs left and used them and was surprised at hoe quick they took of. Nirvana has Integrity that no-one else has and i have recommended them to all my friends. My current Short Rider was planted March-1-10 and has been fed daily with Dyna Gro for the last three weeks. It has 5 buds that are about the size of the tip of my little finger. The plant is about 10" tall and only has one branch. Nirvana told me the plant would bush, not so. This is the second plant I have grown. The first grew almost identical except for the height. It grew to about 14" tall with the same bud structure. I was a chump and purchased 10 feminized seeds. I put the last 5 in the ground just to get rid of them. Never again will Nirvana get my money!

recived short rider seeds to try and could not find any usefull info on the net.
only thing i found to be of any use is that they start to flower between 4-5 weeks
so ive decided to write a diary on the way and im at the end of week2 of the grow

this is the way i grew the (fem) seeds as a trial in a hydro 40ltr nft system with a 600w sodium bulb in a grow tent.
i plan to change the water every 4 or 5 days.

week 1
soaked seeds slightly over 24hrs (forgot about them) then cracked them in damp kitchen roll between two plates
over night. they popped no probs.

soaked the small rockwool cubes in a watered down solution of bio bloom i had left from soil cultivation
i use this for watering cuttings as and they seem to root quicker.
2.5ml to 2litre of luke warm soft water. they were fed the watered down solution made freshly each time
for the first days in a covered propergator (used a t-towel) to the side in the tent at 75 degrees. 22hrs light cycle

by the the third and fourth day the roots had broken through the bottom of the seed cube and were transplanted to
larger cubes and put into the nft system with canna aqua vega 10ml to 10ltrs i just added 20ltrs to the tank.
and an air stone was added for extra oxygen

week2
into the second week and the roots are shooting through the bottom of the larger rockwell cube and ive upped the food solution
to 15ml to 10ltrs and added 30ltrs to the tank the plant has started to go now and is going great guns.
have put the light cycle to 18hrs. just to see if any changes in light affects the growth rate.

week3
Got a shock day 16 checked on the babies and they are starting to flower.
going to change to canna aqua flores at a ratio of 25ml to 10ltrs and keep the volume of water
at 30ltrs i am not going to give it any booster food just yet to see how it goes. will keep the light cycle 18/6.
for 4-5 days then up the food to 30ml (just to see if it does what it exactly says on the tin.) (Posted on 4/20/10)

ok now people i am on my 4th garden of short rider ... and i'll tell ya how to get a good yeild....24/0- metal halide... then when flowering starts... go 20/4 with h.p.s.... i hope this helps you all cuz when i started with the autoflower strain ..no one could answer my lighting ?s... so i tried it my self ... and this worked the best for me ...as far as nirvana for seed they are the best .... I couldn't believe it when it actually auto-flowered!! Crazy man... Short rider was very easy to grow... Lots of resin and a beautiful fluffy look to it. Can't remember exactly how long it took from seed to smoke, but I planted same day as NYPD and Sh.Rider won by 3 or 4 weeks... The only downer.... very low yield. but you can make up for that with the space you're saving cause they're so short. I don't even have to talk about Nirvana's reliability. I had 10 seeds, 100% germination. The bud is very nice, strong skunk with a sort of spicyness to it. Looks very pretty and resinous. Different phenotypes have been observed.. Excellent exotic. Very short to grow and can be done under 24 hours of light. (Posted on 2/22/10)

Well we grew this strain, sw.cheese,white castle,ice and the indoor mix, all nirvana and all fem'd.as for this strain, buds will be done in 2 weeks to make 8 wks flowering. Pretty dense and sticky but it never autoflowered!! It dint start flowering till I turned the light back. Only problem from this strain, as for the others,... (Posted on 2/4/10)

This strain was a pleasure to grow from start to finish. The end product was also well beyond my expectations. I veged 30 of these under two 400W MH bulbs @ 16/8 with miracle grow 18-18-21 at 1/4 strength every other watering. The plants were each in 8 inch diameter pots. They started flowering two weeks into the grow. After four weeks I switched the bulbs out with two 400W HPS bulbs and kept my original photoperiod. At this time I also switched to miracle grow 15-31-15 at a 1/4 strength every other watering. The ph of my water during normal watering and after adding fert to the water was kept at atleast 7.0 or above. These plants finished at exactly eight weeks after germination. They grew to an average height of 1.5 feet. After drying and letting the buds set in a brown paper bag for one week (I know, please don't bash me over that) the product was a pleasure. Hey, i live in sweden and im thinking of planting 5 of these outdoors in the summer, my plan is werry simple, germinate the seeds, then go out in the woods to find a good place, plant them right into the ground, and let them grow, il be there like everyday to check on them, and give them some water if needed, is this simple plan going to work ? thanks (Posted on 1/25/10)

Ok, so I am finishing my last three...that I vegged under fluorescents. They are really full, look awesome!! Overall, I am very pleased with this strain. It does take some to see what they like, as far as feeding goes. I fed mine bloom booster every third watering, and kept a fan on them (important!) Pluck some fan leaves for optimum light to the lower buds...and keep them between 70-80 degrees F. Good luck, and I look forward to reviewing the next strain. (Posted on 1/17/10)

Very much like the last posting...I have grown six, and the last three were very different from the first three...and I will tell you why. I was unhappy with the lanky low production on the first three. I vegged them under Metal Halide, then switched to HPS after they budded. Being unhappy with the outcome (production)..don't get me wrong....the quality and amount of tricomes was stupid good, I had crystal everywhere, even growing down the stems. So on the next three, I switched the veg cycle to Flourescent lights in my nursery. Big difference!!! They all stayed short, very bushy and full. Once they started autoflowering, I waited a couple weeks...then moved them to the HPS room. They look and are producing much better, and have already doubled the yeild. I have a small room 4x6, and was not going to try this again until I figured out how to veg them...I am happy now. If anyone knows a good strain I can order that will fill my room in 6 3 gallon pots..let me know. Overall, I am happy...but I am ready to try something different. (Posted on 12/25/09)

Germed 10 seeds all 10 popped up, Very strange grow, each of these plants looked to be of differant strains. Some had large fat fan leaves that resembled HEMP. Five of the plants grew to about 3 ft tall and then started to die for no known reason. The other five veged to about 4-5ft then swithched to 12-12, they flowered out in very short time however all of the buds were very light and and airy. After harvest and a two week dry and cure it was time to try out this short rider. The dryed smell was more like swag an not dro, the taste was not so great either. Yeild was about 1 lb from all five flowered plants. I disliked this strain so much I gave it away to some medical patients. Don't recommend this strain for indoor grow . I was told this is more of an outdoor strain, I still have 5 seeds left I will try these outside 2010. (Posted on 12/17/09)

High everyone, I bought the fem SR's, and so far all have poked their cute little girl faces (right?!) above the soil. To me, the seeds looked a little small, but that just goes to show Nirvana has got good quality control since they all popped. I guess sometimes size DOESN'T matter..LOL.

I had the fems there was 2 distinct pheno's one was lanky with few buds but the majority were short and dense and compact amazing considering growing under 125w CF. Lovely sweet fruity pine smell and the best priced seeds on the market. Ideal if you have wasted space in you veg room.

Bought 5 seeds (not feminized), two turned into males, I accidently killed one and the other two have the biggest bud ever. It is like the whole plant turned into a hugh bud!! Not ripe enough to "taste test" but they sure smell nice. Highly recommend for small places. I grew these outside and they love it. (Posted on 9/18/09)
