Red and Blue LEDs
LED color spectrum is judge by it’s nanometer or the length of the wavelength. Currently, the majority of LED grow lights have two types of colored lights/diodes: red and blue. You know that blue is best for veg as it keeps plants short and bushy, while red is needed for flowering. The lights are usually only red and blue because this is where the 2 main chlorophyll molecules response and capture light the best.
However, to a lesser extent carotenoids capture light as well, and they work best in the yellow, green, and orange range, so some companies are adding diodes for them, but it’s controversial topic amongst growers.
If you’re sticking to a red and blue/white diodes, then I recommend 3 red diodes for every blue/white one.
